When the pandemic hit we began to see a cultural shift gain momentum - people began cooking more at home, spending time with their nearest and dearest, and getting outside to enjoy all that the natural world has to offer. Reconnect with what really matters and take a digital detox this winter.

The Nelson and Kootenay Lake region may be one of the rarest ecosystems on the planet. Sweeping alpine tundra, regal mountain tops and glaciated valleys blanket a unique inland temperate zone, surging with life. Home to ancient forests and iconic keystone species including the grizzly bear and Kokanee salmon, the area feeds species with oceanic affinities.

Deep in the southeast corner of British Columbia in the Nelson and Kootenay Lake region lies one of the most magical and mysterious ecosystems on the planet. Fabled and ancient old growth forests up to five meters thick are rooted here amongst the jagged peaks of the Selkirk and Purcell mountains. This region is home to the last-remaining Inland Temperate Rainforest on Earth.
